Town N Country
Town ‘N Country offers some of the best lifestyle living in the Tampa Bay Area. Its waterfront communities are ranked among the best on the bay and offer open water views and canals lined with dock and boats. The original Town 'N Country Park Community opened September 18, 1959, just north of Memorial Highway. The first fifty homes were constructed on Brookside Lane and Murray Hill Drive by three transplanted New York builders. When a Tampa real estate broker first showed the land to the potential developers, it appeared to be in the middle of nowhere. The owner of the land was a dairy farmer whose main barn was located where the Town 'N Country Plaza Shopping Center now stands. Although the area now contains over 50,000 people, at the time the land was purchased the residents within a three mile radius could be counted on one hand.
The term Town 'N Country is now used to designate a large part of Hillsborough County, far beyond the 2,000 acres developed by Town 'N Country Park and it original developers. Over 20,000 people live in the original Town 'N Country area. Due to the interest and concern of its residents, it has become a vital and well recognized part of Hillsborough County. Its proximity to the beaches and Tampa International Airport and its diverse selection of homes, lifestyle and A rated schools, make it a top choice to live in the bay area.
